CEDRATM was established in 1985
by a group of practicing civil engineers with the express purpose
to develop and provide the public works and engineering community
with engineering software and related services. CEDRA key staff
members, being proponents of engineers addressing the overall
life cycle of a project, understood the importance of integrating
engineering design and analysis with data management operations,
and began in 1987 a working relationship with Environmental Systems
Research Institute (ESRI) to address the needs of this community.
With the introduction of ArcView® GIS in the mid 1990's, and
the recent release of ArcGISTM
by ESRI, this goal has advanced dramatically in bridging engineering
and GIS technologies to provide the end user an integrated Engineering-GIS
solution. With particular emphasis placed in parcel mapping,
water, wastewater and storm
water facilities, from both the engineering and information
management aspects, CEDRA is able to provide private and governmental
clients productivity enhancing software.
Prior to the formation of The CEDRA Corporation in 1985, key
staff of CEDRA have been providing private and municipal Surveyors
and Civil Engineers, domestically and internationally, with state-of-the-art
Design, Drafting and GIS related software for over 35 continuous
years. In addition, The CEDRA Corporation offers a wide range
of professional services including consulting, software
support, training, data capture, utility
model and database establishment, and application software
development. CEDRA's technical staff can develop a tailored
implementation plan that takes a client from the initial hardware
and software installation phase through a detailed training program
that enables the client to become productive quickly and easily.
The CEDRA family, of powerful, easy-to-use software tools brings
Civil Engineering design / analysis to your desktop. CEDRA provides
software offering state-of-the-art technology to design, explore,
query and analyze data within a self contained operating environment.
CEDRA AVseriesTM software works
directly with ESRI's geographic
information system software (ARC/INFO®, ArcView® GIS,
ArcGISTM),as well as with IBM's
A&ES architectual / engineering software. No third party software
are needed, but if desired, the CEDRA modules have the flexibility
to communicate with other software (i.e. Autocad, MicroStation).
CEDRA's stand-alone software integrates drafting and design that
is production oriented and production proven. Comprised of CEDRA-SEATM, CEDRA-LANDTM,
CEDRA-SANDTM and CEDRA-WATERTM, designers use CEDRA software for Surveying,
Contouring, Traverse adjustment, Stakeout, Landfill, Mining, Road
design, Site modeling, Sub-division, Earthwork computations, Sanitary,
Storm and Combined sewer modeling and Water supply system modeling
applications. In addition, special features are available for
oil and other pipeline systems for modeling, drawing and management
applications. Utilizing CEDRA-SEATM
as the base graphics engine, CEDRA's stand-alone software allow
the designer to operate in an integrated drafting and design environment
without requiring any additional third-party software, yet having
the ability to bi-directionally communicate and share data via
standard drawing exchange formats.
CEDRA's GIS related software, CEDRA-AVcadTM,
CEDRA-AVcogoTM, CEDRA-AVparcelTM, CEDRA-AVlandTM,
CEDRA-AVsandTM and CEDRA-AVwaterTM, constitute extensions to ArcView®
GIS and ArcGIS®, the desktop GIS software of Environmental
Systems Research Institute (ESRI), that bridge Civil Engineering
and GIS technologies.
The AVseriesTM suite of software provide the user the ability to tap into existing ARC/INFO® databases, extract model data (size, material, inverts, land use data, etc.), perform analyses and queries, and update the database. If a database is not available, CEDRA's AVseriesTM software possess the necessary tools to establish the database geometrically and/or tabularly. Furthermore, existing databases established with CEDRA's stand-alone software can be read directly by CEDRA's AVseriesTM software.
